~Welcome to my blog!!!~
I am a stay-at-home mom to three kiddos- two girls who are 10 and 7, and our first little boy who will be 5 in October.
It can get a little chaotic around here with all the activity of three kids... but I wouldn't trade any of it for the world!

Well, at least most days I wouldn't... ;)

Happy New Year's Eve!

Hope 2006 brings you and your family happiness, good health, and lasting memories....

We're headed off to my brother and sister-in-law's for an evening of card playing and ringing in the New Year with family. Last minute plans since up until around 2 this afternoon, we were staying home!! My four year old is beyond excited to be able to play with her cousins. We'll see if they make it till midnight! I've already got her and Cass bathed and dressed in their pj's so all we have to do is bring them home, and plop them off to bed!

Tomorrow, the girls and I (and possibly Daddy if he can get his arse out of bed! LOL) are going to my mom and dad's for barbecued spareribs... YUMMY!

See ya in 2006!

Thursday Thirteen

**FYI... I actually did two posts today. My first one was on naps then I found the Thursday Thirteen and couldn't resist adding it! Just call me an over-achiever! ;)

Thirteen Things about ~~Cathy~~

OK... so this is my first Thursday Thirteen... sure hope I do it right!

1. As of right now, hubby and I have no plans for New Year's Eve
2. I cannot remember the last time I had no plans for NYE!
3. I actually think a night at home with my 2 and 4 year old doesn't sound too bad.
4. I am terrible at keeping New Years' Resolutions
5. That being said, I'm still going to make a few this year.
6. I figure there's always a chance I'll keep them, right!??! Or at least one of them!
7. Ok.... so here goes.... (I can count this as one of my 13 right?!?!) ;)
8. I would like to lose 20 lbs this year... maybe even 25!
9. I am going to vow to walk on our new treadmill at least 4 times a week (that gives me 3 whole days I'm allowed to skip!)
10. I resolve to make fitness a priority and take a yoga (or pilates class) that my friend will teach in her home. (this is the one I will need to FORCE myself to do)
11. I hope my hubby will make fitness a priority too... he's put on a lot of weight the past couple years (shh... don't tell him I said that!)
12. I resolve to do a better job at updating my blog... gotta make that 100 posts before March hits! (I think this makes 65)
13. I am feeling blue that my oldest daughter goes to kindergarten next fall. :( She's still supposed to be a baby.

Naptime

My two year old is trying reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly hard to give up her nap. And I'm trying just as hard to not let her!!! There are some days, maybe 40-50% of the time, that she goes down without a peep. And sleeps for about 1-2 hours.

Today is not one of those days.

Currently, it's naptime and she's in her room crying out in her crib. I just went in there and she told me she wanted to "watch Bardey! (Barney)" Nope. It's time for your nap kiddo! I leaned in, gave her a kiss, and left the room.

We'll see how it goes. I'm not real optimistic.

Cass has learned to climb out of her crib. She's been doing it for awhile now (at least six months) and while we're getting ready to move her to a big girl bed, we haven't managed to do it yet. I'm hoping once we do, naptime might become easier. A mom can still have some hope, right?!?!

A few days ago, she was in her room for two hours and did not go to sleep at all! What she did do was take all the socks and tons of blankets out of her dresser and scatter them all over the floor! Then when I went in there, she was jumping on the daybed that sits in her room. dry.gif "I jupping Mommy!" I tried putting her hiney back in her bed a couple times, and she'd climb right back out. After two hours, I gave up.

I've since taken all the blankets out of her dresser (after she did it a few more times!). Plus, I have started closing her closet door so she can't pull all the clothes (within her reach) off her hangers. Yep, she's done that too! And I "threaten" her not to go near her sock drawer. I've cleaned them up one too many times. With those little precautions, she doesn't have quite as much to get in to.

I'm slowly resigning myself to the fact that naptime is going to be coming to an end. I'm not giving up without a fight but in the end, I cannot force her to go to sleep, right?!?!

My older kiddo didn't give up her nap till she was just over three. Course, Cass has almost always done things sooner than her sister did. I was just hoping naptime wouldn't have to be one of those things!

Christmas Eve!

Well, the big day is finally upon us! It's Christmas Eve! Hope you all have a blessed holiday!! I'm all shopped out and ready for Santa to come.... with the exception of a couple of gifts I still need to locate!! Why is it when you put things away, it's always next to impossible to remember where you put them?!?!?!

This evening, after baths, the girls are getting to open one present.... Christmas PJ's that I hunted and hunted for! I ended up having to hem them because once I found the ones I wanted, the sizes weren't quite right! But with my trusty sewing machine, I was able to fix that right up! We're planning to go to my in-laws for a bit tonight. I'm hoping I can convince Jenna to go in her new pj's so we don't have to worry about that once we get home and get ready for bed! Cass will do whatever her big sis does so I only have to convince one!

J is soooooo excited for Christmas morning... She's already told me she's going to wait up and see if she can hear Santa on the roof. And she's figured out that her room is right near where the chimney is! Smart girl, huh?!?! I just hope that Santa brings her what she wants! Her little mind changed daily depending on the commercials she'd seen that day!

Ok... well, I need to go get ready to bake cookies for the big guy! Merry Christmas fellow bloggers!

Before I go, here's a fun little thing for ya....

Our Attempt at a Santa Visit

(Sorry... I've been MIA yet again... I'll blame it on the holidays and all!)

Anyways...

The other night at bedtime, I told Cass, my two year old, that we were going to see Santa the next day.

She said, "NO!"

I told her Jenna was going to see Santa and sit on his lap. And Mommy was going to see Santa too. As I was putting her in her crib, she kept repeating, "Jenna donna see Santa Claus?? Mommy donna see Santa Claus?!"

The next morning we talked about it again and she still said no, she wasn't going to see Santa. Between then and getting to the mall, she actually said a couple times that she *was* going to see Santa.

In line, it was back to NO!

So we wait at least 20 minutes and it's finally our turn. Jenna hops up on Santa's lap. I'm carrying Cassidy. As we get closer to the Big Guy, she starts frantically clinging to me saying "NO! NO!! I stared (scared) of Santa Claus!! I stared! I wanna dit out of here!!!" I attempted to sit her on his lap and she started kicking and screaming like a wild goose! So I tried to sit her down BESIDE him.

"I want outta here!!," she said (AGAIN!) and then she proceeded to take off running out of the Santa display!!! LOL That little fart is fast, I tell ya!! I chased after her and managed to catch her before she got too far. Took her back to the display (where Jenna, my four year old, was still camped out on Santa's lap) and put her in the stroller where she watched Jenna get her picture taken. The whole time, she's yelling, "I stared of Santa Claus!!" The people waiting were cracking up!

So, anyways, I paid 16 freakin dollars for a very cute 5 X 7 picture of Jenna.

The rest of the time we were at the mall and out and about, Cass kept repeating, "I don't wanna see Santa Claus! I stared of Santa!!

Ok kid, Mommy gets it! ;)

Oh well, I tried, right?!?!

Maybe we'll have better luck next year?!?!?!
