~Welcome to my blog!!!~
I am a stay-at-home mom to three kiddos- two girls who are 10 and 7, and our first little boy who will be 5 in October.
It can get a little chaotic around here with all the activity of three kids... but I wouldn't trade any of it for the world!

Well, at least most days I wouldn't... ;)

A New Doc...

This past summer, the o.b. I went to for both of my girls decided to close his practice and go back to school for internal medicine. The rising malpractice insurance costs were the culprit. He could no longer afford to maintain his private practice.

Since he closed his doors in September, I hadn't gotten around to making an appt with another doctor. One of the docs he left his practice to was actually the one who delivered Jenna, my five year old (my doc wasn't on call that weekend). So when I got the positive test the other day, the first thing I did was call up and make an appt with that doctor. I figured at least I'd seen him before (and liked him!) so that would be a good thing.

After I hung up from making the appointment, I started thinking that I better check and make sure he was on our insurance plan. And he wasn't. So I was back to square one. No doctor.

I logged on to our insurance website and started looking for ob/gyn's. Wrote down a couple names and kept looking. Then I saw the name of a doctor that several of my friends see. And they've all given him and his partner glowing reviews. Cha-ching! I was back in business.

So I called and made the appt. Which, by the way, is tomorrow! My first prenatal visit. I am not even going to be far enough along to have an ultrasound but since I am a new patient and have had infertility issues in the past, they wanted to get me in quickly. I am hoping/praying/crossing my fingers that I get to go back for another visit in a week or two to get an ultrasound... where we will hopefully see the little heartbeat thump-thumping away...

I'll post an update this weekend sometime and let you know how my first visit goes!

Got this from Mrs. Fun...

You Are Diet Coke

You are energy in its purest form. No need to complicate things with sweetness.
And while people may hate your aftertaste, you are seen as a necessary evil.

Your best soda match: 7 Up

Stay away from: Coke

At the beginning of the year, I switched to diet pop. I only drink one a day but I figured every little calorie would help. When Lent started this year, I gave up pop and chocolate... so since the beginning of March, I haven't had anything but water. April 16, I've got a diet vanilla coke with my name on it waiting for me in the fridge!

An Answered Prayer...

My oldest daughter has been telling me for awhile now that she wants a baby brother.

With both of my girls, we had to jump through hoops in order to get pregnant. The first took three years and the second took 18 months or so... and two iui fertility treatments. We saw a specialist for both girls. Once Cass was on her way, hubby and I decided that we were done with fertility doctors and if another child was going to grace our family, it would have to be au natural and pretty much an oops. Meaning we weren't going to try but if it happened, cool. Going through the heartache of not being able to conceive twice was enough for us.

So when Jenna started asking for a brother, I pretty much figured that with our previous luck, she wasn't going to get her wish. I actually told her she needed to be doing some serious praying if she hoped to get another sibling. Then I pretty much went about my business. She mentioned wanting a brother here and there but I always just told her that it probably wasn't going to happen. Cass turned two this past December. Since her birth, we'd never used any... ahem... protection. And our luck held out.

But.... little did I realize, my sweet little five year *was* actually praying pretty consistently at night for a new baby brother to join our family.

The morning I first took a test, we were sitting having breakfast and she told me she'd forgotten to pray that night before. Hmmmm.... I asked her what she was praying for and at first she didn't want to tell me. Then she said she'd been praying for a brother.

Looks like her prayer might possibly be answered come Thanksgiving...

I'm back... and boy, do I have a tale to tell!

So... A LOT has happened since I last wrote. My break turned out to be a bit longer than I was intending it to be!

But the good news is it's definitely been productive. I finally started a diet some time back in January. Started eating healthier, drinking more water, cutting back on junk, exercising, taking a yoga class, etc., etc. For the first time in my life, I was able to stick with it and actually see results. And I'm proud to report that I've lost about 15-16 pounds. Only ten more pounds to go and I would have been at my goal weight. Notice I said "would have."

I made a goal a month or so ago that when I reached 15 lbs, I was going to reward myself by buying a new Quilted Keepers purse. (they're similar to Vera Bradleys for any purse whores out there!) Finally, this week, I reached my goal. Yahoo for me!

But I haven't gone out and bought a new purse yet.

"Why?" you might ask.

Well, I've had other things on my mind this week. Unexpectedly, I got another "reward" for my weight loss.

Take a look see.

Yep, that's right. All the weight I lost and then some is coming right back.

If that doesn't prove God has a sense of humor, I don't know what does.
