VBS
The kiddos and I are right in the middle of Vacation Bible School. My two older ones actually get to participate. It's Cassidy's first year. Jenna's third or fourth. Don't remember for sure! Me, I get to participate too. For the past three years, I've been teaching crafts with the preschoolers. NickNack goes with us to Bible School... but he has to stay in the nursery since he's still a little young for all the activities!
It's been a fun week. We're doing a Science Lab theme. Today, we actually made oozzy goozzy slime by mixing water with a powdery mixture and shaking it. The kiddos definitely enjoyed it. The biggest obstacle was getting the lid on the little beaker thingie quick enough for them to start shaking it before the powder formed into little balls that would not go away. Then we shook for a minute to mix it all up. It's amazing how long a minute lasts when you're shaking non-stop.
Once they were done shaking it, then came the fun task of getting it out of the beaker and rolling it back and forth enough to get it to form a ball that could actually be played with. The kids seemed to enjoy the activity and especially loved their final slime creation.
We sent the beakers of slime home at the end of the day. With the warning to NOT play with it on moms' new carpet or favorite couch!! Hopefully, we won't have too many slimy catastrophes.
Two more days of Bible School to go!
