Blog Resolutions
I've been blogging now for around 3 years. Sometimes I am better about keeping it updated. Other times, I go missing in action for what seems like an eternity. But for some reason, I always come lurking back to this little bookmark on my faves.
Aside from actually posting anecdotes about the happenings around here, one of my favorite things to do when I'm bored after the kiddos go to bed (but don't quite feel like going to bed myself), is reread through my old posts. Sometimes I go all the way back to the very first post. Other times, I'll pick a date and go from there. Like the last time, I reread from where I announced I was pregnant again. And I reread back through the posts where we thought Nicholas was going to have hearing problems. I sure was a worried Momma back then... until we got the news that his hearing was just fine.
Anyways, my point to all this is.... I never realized when I started this blog what a history it would contain. And how much I enjoy rereading this history over and over. And then I think about the times I was missing in action and all the wonderful stories I missed telling. Stories that years from now, I'll probably forget all the details of since I didn't document them. I do scrapbook and am able to tell stories there but not every memory has an actual picture to go along with it. And journaling in my scrapbooks often gets put aside while I try to keep up with getting all the pictures into the albums.
So back to the point of this entry....
I know everyone makes New Years' resolutions... and some of us are better at keeping them than others. And some resolutions are easier to keep than others. But I'm going to give it a whirl anyways...
My Blog Resolutions...
1. post more often... at least weekly, hopefully more.
2. write even when I think there's nothing to write about (some of my best posts have started that way)
3. visit other blogs and read other family daily histories
4. lose weight... and journal about it (I did this one last time I dieted... and doesn't every resolution list have to have "lose weight" on it)
Not sure how I'll keep myself accountable on these. We'll see how I do.....
