Thumbs Up for the New Doc!
Ok, I just have to start off by saying I realllllly like the new doc I am going to be seeing for this pregnancy! He is friendly and easygoing and made me feel comfortable right away. He spent a few minutes going over my history and just chatting before we got down to business.
He ended up doing an exam (and a pap since I was due for one)... then he told me I could come in next week and get an early ultrasound! WOO!! SO next Friday, I have an appt for that. I'll be 6 1/2 - 7 weeks along so we should be able to see the heartbeat! Cross your fingers for me! Then he wants to see me again in two weeks to go over some blood test results he had me do today. The fertility specialist I saw with Cass (my two year old) had me doing Heparin shots which my regular ob then told me he didn't want me doing! So Dr. Huey (new doc) just wants to retest and see what conclusion he comes to. Cross your fingers (again!) that he doesn't decide I have to do heparin (two shots in the belly EVERY day!)!
After the appt, I went upstairs and had a gazillion tubes of blood taken. Luckily, the nurse was good and got a vein on the first stick! I don't even have a bruise!
Before I left, the doctor's office gave me a bag full of crap (baby magazines, a diaper bag, etc, etc, etc) that is still sitting out in the car. I'm not quite ready to explain to my (almost) five year old why I have a new diaper bag! Not sure when we're planning to tell her about the impending arrival... I'm *thinking* once we've had the ultrasound.
All I know is that once I tell Jenna, I better be ready to spread the news... because there's no doubt she'll do it for me!

I'm glad you like your new OB doc. That's so important! And you can tell this isn't your first baby... because you left the material in the car. ;)
It will be so exciting telling your 5 year old she's going to be a big sister again. Plus... that will save some phone calls! ;)

It's great that you found a doctor that you're happy with, Cathy. I don't think I'd like it if I had different doctors giving me different advice like what's happening to you, Cathy. Somehow having all the doctors in agreement would be a great comfort. I hope your new doctor finds the right course of blood treatment.

Congrats on your new addition, I hope you don'tt have to do the heparin shots again. I did them and those suckers burn.
Congratulations! A new baby is always exciting especially when it is welcomed by a loving family.
Ouch! Two shots in the belly everyday. I don't know why if I could do that. I am so afraid of needles.
I'm glad you like your doctor. That is so important or else it is going to be a miserable nine months. Good luck at your ultrasound next week!
My advice is to wait as long as you can because 8-9 months is a really long time for a little person,lol.
Its great that you love your OB and woot on the early u/s.
I'm so happy that you like the new Dr. I hope all of the blood work is ok and that the ultrasound shows nothing but good things!
Sounds like you've got a great new doc. Its always nice when you find one that puts you at ease. I've never heard of Heparin shots but oh my gosh...2 shots in the belly EVERY day?? Yikes!
Hey, congrats on the great news, Cathy! That's great that you love your new doc too. I just found out the doc I've been seeing forever isn't covered by our new insurance -sad. So happy for your upcoming arrival!
