~Welcome to my blog!!!~
I am a stay-at-home mom to three kiddos- two girls who are 10 and 7, and our first little boy who will be 5 in October.
It can get a little chaotic around here with all the activity of three kids... but I wouldn't trade any of it for the world!

Well, at least most days I wouldn't... ;)

And so it begins...

Today, I finally got my arse over to the fitness center (that I joined earlier this week) for my first workout!! My hubby ended up taking the day off. As soon as he told me he was staying home, I said, "great! You can stay with the girls so I can go work out!"

So I got them some breakfast, threw in a Barney tape, and headed out the door!

When I got there, a good friend of mine just happened to be there too so I had someone to work out and chat with! Even though the director guy did a run through of the machines last week at the orientation, I am still pretty...ok, extremely... clueless on what different exercises/machines I needed to do for the different muscles! My friend helped me out some, but I still felt pretty clutzy! wacko.gif Especially when I was trying to lift weights! I guess it'll get better with time. I can already feel a bit of soreness in my muscles tonight! Nothing too excruciating... just the feeling that I did some stretching today! So that's good!

I talked to my mother in law and she is going to keep the girls on Monday mornings for an hour or so so I can go work out. Then Hubby will keep them in the evenings once he gets home from work. I have a feeling though that the evenings are going to be a bit busy (since it is a small fitness room..... only one of each machine) so I'm hoping to figure out some sitter plans for other days too! A friend (who also stays home!) and I have discussed switching off one day a week and babysitting for each other.

Hopefully I'll get the babysitting issues all worked out soon. Then I can get myself into a regular routine and start to see some results in the next couple months.

Good luck with the workouts and with working out a babysitter. Neither is an easy task. Michele sent me.

Michele sent me to see your blog, Cathy with a C.

Good luck on the program. I used to be in suck great shape but when I moved here to NC I stopped the hiking and cycling and now my belly is on a huge expansion program. I'm up to 214 pounds! I'm sure you'll do better than I, Cathy. And it'll make you feel so good about yourself!

I'm sooo glad that you got there! I remember going to the university gym. Nothing worse than trying to work off a baby belly in front of all sorts of VERY fit students. Going with a friend is a great idea, it's the only thing that made me stick it out!

gym buddies are a great idea, they drag you there even if you don't want to go and then you are thankful later that they did. hope you work out your babysitting issues too.
